Rs 2.5 L paid to kin of deceased home guard

SHILLONG:The family of Home Guard personnel, Dismarlin Lyngdoh Lyngkhoi who died from injuries while he was on duty at Food Corporation of India (FCI) godown, Khanapara has received a compensation of Rs. 2.5 lakh from Saikia Company.

Speaking to reporters, secretary of Joint Action Committee of Mawlai, Seiborlang Lyngdoh Nonglait said the Saikia Company will employ Dismarlin’s son in their company, with a salary of Rs 9000 per month and it will be enhanced to Rs 10,000 per month after three months.

Meanwhile, Saikia Company represented by Bipul Saikia apologized to the family of the deceased. Four drivers of the Saikia company trucks assaulted Dismarlin one month ago. 

The daughter, Larisha Nonglang will be temporarily appointed as a peon at the office of Office of Deputy Controller Civil Defense for three months following which she will go for the compulsory 40 days training, president of the Joint Action Committee, Mawlai, Donboklang Kharlyngdoh said.
