Akali leader asks Shah to intervene

SHILLONG: Taking note of the HNLC’s threat to take action against the people of Harijan Colony, Delhi MLA and member of Shiromani Akali Dal Manjinder S Sirsa has urged the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma to take steps to protect the Sikhs.
In his tweet on Sunday, Sirsa said, “Sikhs all across the world feel offended with the way HNLC, an extremist organization is issuing open threat to Sikhs and Punjabis living in Shillong. Requesting @AmitShah Ji and @SangmaConrad Ji to take necessary actions to ensure safety of Sikhs and Punjabis in Shillong.”
Sirsa is likely to visit Shillong to understand the ground reality.
When contacted, secretary of the Harijan Panchayat Committee, Gurjit Singh said he had no information on Sirsa’s visit to the state.
