Teachers’ plea for better remuneration

SHILLONG: The All Garo Hills 4th Teachers’ Association’s delegation apprised Chief Minister Conrad Sangma with regard to increment of salary as well as regularisation of over 1500 teachers.
President of the association Tengsrang K Sangma said that the assistant teachers draw Rs 9000 per month and the 4th teachers draw Rs 6000 per month, however, the three SSA teachers are getting Rs 20,493 and the 4th teachers receive Rs 12,000 per month regardless of having the same work load, experience and also qualification.
The chief minister assured the delegation to take up the issue with Education Minister L Rymbui at the earliest.
