Mawshynrut MLA donates salaries to rebuild school

NONGSTOIN: Mawshynrut MLA and chairman State Housing Board Gigur Myrthong has donated his salaries to construct Seinduli Lower Primary School new building.
Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui on Tuesday inaugurated the new building of the school in West Khasi Hills District in presence of Myrthong, DSEO L. Syiemlieh, students, parents and the locals.
Speaking at the programme, Marthong said, “I was touched by the sincerity and hard work of the teachers and management of the school.
When I first saw the school it was made of thatch and bamboo and now it has changed into an RCC building.”
Expressing concern over the education in Mawshynrut, he said the literacy rate is very low in the area, adding “I assure all help to improve the educational system here.’’
While lauding the Marthong, the education minister said the MLA has set a bright example as a representative to develop the education in the area.
He also assured assists in order to help the school.
