TURA: Students of the Industrial Training Institute in Tura have written to the government  complaining about the undue delay on the part of the authorities in releasing their annual semester examination results.

In a letter to the chief minister, the students informed that Shillong ITI students have already obtained their semester results in the month of May while that of Tura is still to be declared. They claim that in previous years the semester results for both institutes would be declared simultaneously.

“The 4th Semester and Repeater Examinations are already due in the first week of July and we need to know our results before that time so that necessary steps can be taken by us. In addition to this, repeaters of previous years have also not been provided with their results and we are receiving discouragements and setbacks,” complained the students.

Students point out to the lackadaisical attitude of the authorities of the Tura ITI who refuse to look into students complaints about correction of registration cards, date of birth, spelling mistake in names, among others.
