SHILLONG: The Superintendednt of Police of East Khasi Hills (EKH) informed that the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), East Khasi Hills recovered 15 numbers of soap boxes containing suspected heroin weighing 183.49 gms from the house of Sonmingla Hangboi, a release issued here informed.
The suspected heroin was seized in the presence of independent witnesses after observing all the procedures under NDPS Act.
On the lead of Sonmingla Hangboi one Jessica Mate was apprehended.
As per preliminary investigation, it appeared that the bag containing suspected heroin was given to the boy by the lady for safekeeping.
Police is investigating the case further and thorough interrogation of arrested accused so far is being done to ascertain the source of the heroin.
Police is not ruling out the possibility of more arrests as it appears to be a big drug cartel.
