SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the state government would meet the Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss on the budgeting and cost of the National Games 2022 which will be hosted by the state of Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday on the sidelines of a programme, he said that the Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju was also briefed about the National Games.
“The meeting on National Games was very positive with Rijiju. He told me it is not just your game it is my game also and it is a game which is a pride of the North East. We will ensure that it is the best ever game,” Sangma said.
It may be mentioned that the state government has identified land at Mawdiangdiang to create space for the Main stadium and the Games Village. Land is also being identified in other parts of the state as well.
Recently, the CM informed that the 2022 National Games budget may touch Rs 1500 crore.
