England register highest score
England registered the highest total in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup as they scored 397 runs against Afghanistan on Tuesday. The previous highest total in this World Cup was also held by England as they had scored 386 runs against Bangladesh. Opener Jonny Bairstow (90 off 99 balls) and Joe Root (88 off 82 balls) also played their part but were overshadowed by the skipper. (ANI)

Morgan scores 4th fastest ton with record 17 sixes
England ODI skipper Eoin Morgan on Tuesday recorded the fourth fastest century in the history of the World Cup at the Old Trafford. Morgan reached the feat in just 57 balls during a World Cup match against Afghanistan. The England captain now sits after Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien (50), Australia’s Glenn Maxwell (51) and South Africa’s AB de Villiers (52). England captain Eoin Morgan smashed as many as 17 sixes against Afghanistan in their World Cup game here on Tuesday, breaking the record of most sixes in an ODI innings.Morgan was in devastating form, hammering 17 sixes and four boundaries in his 148 off 71 balls. Rashid Khan becomes most expensive bowler
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan Tuesday endured the ignominy of becoming the most expensive bowler in World Cup history during their match against hosts England at Old Trafford. Rashid Khan, the world’s No.3 ODI bowler, leaked 110 runs off nine overs as England racked up a gigantic 397 for six after electing to bat. The record earlier belonged to New Zealand’s Martin Snedden, who had conceded 105 runs for two wickets against England in the 1983 World Cup. Rashid’s woeful figures also makes him the joint second most expensive in ODI history. Pakistan’s left-arm Wahab Riaz had leaked 110 runs in 10 overs against England in August 2016.The leg-spinner came in for sharp criticism from Iceland cricket.Overall, Rashid has taken 128 wickets in 63 ODIs and 75 scalps from 38 T20Is.
