Nongpoh: In yet another attack incident in Ri Bhoi, the headman of Baridua village, Ioanis Narleng was assaulted at his residence on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 3:30 pm in which more than thirty people led by Goldenstar Khongwar attacked the headman. They came in four to five vehicles as narrated by the headman.
The group beat him up mercilessly without even giving him a chance to talk or asked what is the reason behind the attack.
He also informed that he suffered grievous injuries on the parts of his head.
Narleng suspected that the attack was because a group led by Khongwar allegedly wanted to bifurcate Baridua village in which the villagers protested against such move.
Narleng also informed that an FIR in this regard has been lodged at Khanapara Police Station and urged the police department to take stringent actions against all those involved.
