Chinese Army celebrates Yoga Day with Indian Army

GUWAHATI: In a first of its kind of event along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on the Eastern Border, a total of seventy personnel of Chinese Army and thirty civilians participated in joint Yoga sessions with Indian Army personnel at Nathu La (Sikkim) and at Bumla & Wacha-Damai in Arunachal Pradesh.

 Participation of Chinese Army Personnel in such an event during Border Personnel Meetings will go a long way in promoting peace and tranquillity along the frontiers, according to a Defence source.

The event assumes significance against the backdrop of June 21  being celebrated by India as 5th International Yoga Day.
