The MDC, who was accompanied by the general secretary of PDF Umsning Zone and other leaders from the constituency, inspected the health centre and witnessed the poor and pathetic working conditions.
Speaking to media persons after the visit, Mawlong said that as an elected representative of the people, it is her duty to find out ways and means to provide the best service to the people and that she has received several complaints regarding the CHC which has prompted her to conduct a surprise visit to get first information.
She informed that during the visit and after interactions with the doctors, staff and the patients of the centre, she found out that the health centre is lagging behind in several important aspects.Listing the drawbacks, she said there is shortage of doctors and manpower, the centre does not have a generator to cover for power cut and load shedding and the X-ray machine is outdated and has not been used since it was procured, she said.
