SHILLONG: A meeting was held at Warmawsaw PHC recently in response to media reports regarding the absence of medical staff at the PHC.
The adverse comments regarding the absence of medical officer Dr E Padit were made by the president of the Hynñiewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC), Ri Bhoi Sepngi,  Kupbor Lyngdoh.
According to a statement released by the Warmawsaw PHC, adequate medical team is present to attend to the needs of the patients. The PHC was never left without a medical officer to attend to the patients, the PHC said.
“The staff of the PHC is offended by the baseless reports as the PHC has two medical officers and one medical officer is always present at any given time to personally attend to all cases.”
“So we urge the HYC to meet the people concerned and to cross check their facts before publishing any news,” said the statement.
