SHILLONG: Congress legislator Charles Pyngrope said on Sunday that the KHADC should have given time for the online food supplier to get the necessary papers instead of closing down.
Pyngrope said while the law of the land should be respected by all, including Swiggy, the KHADC should have summoned its executives giving them time to submit the relevant documents. In the meantime, the KHADC should have allowed Swiggy to carry on with the work as the disturbance has affected the livelihood of many people, Pyngrope said.
“There are many local youths employed with Swiggy and they are at a loss after the closure of the business”, the legislator added.
Earlier, Executive member in charge of Trade, Paul Lyngdoh has asserted that the firms and companies that want to operate here must possess valid trading licenses.
