218 recruits join Army

SHILLONG: The Assam Regimental Centre conducted an attestation parade at Parsons Parade Ground in the city on Friday during which 218 recruits were inducted into the regiment.
The parade was reviewed by Major General Pankaj Saxena in the presence of the parents and relatives of the trainees.
In his address to the young soldiers, the reviewing officer spoke about the virtues of selfless service to the nation and recounted the contributions of the Assam Regiment towards nation building.
Complimenting the passing out batch for the immaculate standards, he exhorted the young warriors from the North East to persevere in their pursuit for excellence.
