Banteidor pins hope on Centre for agri varsity

SHILLONG: Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh is optimistic that the Centre will examine the proposal to set up a Central Agricultural University in the state.
He informed on Monday that the state government met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar to discuss on the agricultural university in the state and it was informed that the matter will be examined.
Earlier, the Centre had said that the state has to remain satisfied with only a college.
