28 JE deaths in Assam so far

Guwahati: Nearly 30 deaths caused by Japanese Encephalitis (JE) have been reported in Assam so far, with new cases being detected on a daily basis.
Official sources said here on Tuesday that 28 cases of death caused by JE has been confirmed till this afternoon.
Another 100 JE positive cases have also been detected so far.
Among the districts with highest deaths are Hailakandi, Kamrup, Barpeta and Darrang.
Preventive and awareness campaigns have been intensified across the state, while hospitals and health centres have been equipped to handle the cases.
A central Health Ministry team had also visited the state on Monday to review the prevailing situations. (UNI)
