Shillong to host national e-governance meet in August

SHILLONG: Shillong will host the National e-Governance conference for the first time in August this year.
Sources said the two- day event will be held on August 8-9 in Shillong and around 300-400 delegates from all across the country will participate in the programme.
Union Minister of Personnel Jitendra Singh is likely to attend the conference as the chief guest.
Sources said the conference is usually held in big cities and Shillong is getting the opportunity to host the event for the first time.
There will be discussions on e- governance, IT initiatives and sharing of good practices among different states.
Government officials, experts from various areas and corporate representatives would also present their papers in the context of various developments in the e-Governance scenario in the country.
