SHILLONG: Students of St. Edmund’s College have urged the college administration to provide a statement concerning the clash between the governing body and the teachers and the turn of events which have become an obstacle within the institution.
In this connection, the students hoped that both sides will be able to address the matter at the earliest as it is “hampering their peace of mind and academics as a whole”.
According to students, a negative atmosphere has enveloped the entire college as the demands made by the teachers and the students have not been resolved till date.”We are aggrieved that the college which we look up-to as our second home has to go through such a path due to mismanagement and errors in decision making,” the students said.
“And the various news and information that the students receive each day are really pulling their morale down. It pains them seeing the reputation of their College coming down,” the students added.
“The remark made by our principal Sylvanus Lamare on the FIR lodged by the Meghalaya College Teachers Association (MCTA) against the members of the governing body of St Edmund’s College really disheartened the students as he being the administrative head said that he did not know anything about the matter’,” the teachers said.
