SHILLONG: Five youths, including a minor, were arrested for raping a 14-year old girl in Upper Shillong.
The incident on Sunday has shocked the residents.
A police official said on Tuesday that the accused were known to the victim and a case has been registered.
The relevant sections are IPC 365 and 342 (wrongful confinement) besides sections under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The arrested persons have been identified as Carlo Kurkalang, Pynshai Mawlieh, Andrew Mawlieh and Khraw Mawlieh. The fifth accused is a minor.
