SHILLONG: Two persons died in separate incidents in the city allegedly due to overdose of drugs, police said.
East Khasi Hills SP Claudia Lyngwa informed that recently two persons have died due to consumption of drugs and stressed the need of containing the trend.
Earlier Shruti Thapa had lodged a complaint that on July 10, her son Arbin Bhusal (20) was allegedly taking drugs along with his friends, Gopal Saha, Sanjay Madok, and Malsawmkima P Lyngdoh at Dumdum, Nongthymmai. As a result, her son fell sick and was shifted to Civil Hospital where he died. The complainant suspects foul play over her son’s death.
Another case was referred to a private hospital in the city and later the person was declared dead due to drug overdose.
