Shortage of sugar supply worries minister

SHILLONG: Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs minister, James Sangma hopes that the problem pertaining to the unavailability of PDS sugar in the state will be over soon. Sangma admitted that there are shortcomings in the sanction and distribution of sugar in the state. “We are trying to resolve the issue and we are hopeful of coming to a resolution,” he said while informing that the Government is trying to figure out a solution as the problem has occurred due to financial constraints.
