Achievement

The president, secretary, non-teaching staff and members of the governing body of Buddha Bhanu Saraswati College congratulated Pema Lama and Afreen Nahid for securing the 1st and 9th positions respectively in the Undergraduate Commerce Examination, 2019 conducted by NEHU.

Investiture

 An investiture ceremony was organised by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Happy Valley, Shillong on Saturday. The school council members were conferred upon with badges and flags by principal DK Deran followed by vice principal K Ramesh along with the respective house masters and house mistresses. Deran administered the oath to the leaders while school captains Bituz Mohammad and Manasha Pradhan delivered their acceptance speech by promising to abide by the qualities of a true leader.

Body recovered

An man identified as Kalu Chettri (50-60 yrs), was brought to Civil Hospital, Shillong by a 108 ambulance after he was found lying at Luckier road in Garikhana on July 12 around 1:30pm. He later succumbed to his injuries and the body was taken to the Civil Hospital Morgue where post mortem was later conducted to ascertain the actual cause of death. The body is currently being kept at the CHS Morgue as no individuals have come forward to make any claim. Police said that individuals with information about the deceased may contact 2548151 or 8729884805. The deceased appears to be 5 feet 6 inches tall, has a dark complexion and was last seen wearing an orange jacket, a striped blue and white shirt, grey thermals, a black woolen cap and grey pants.
