JOWAI: The Khasi Students’ Union, Jaintia Hills District Unit along with the KSU Narpuh and Khliehriat Unit on Tuesday shut down the toll gate located at Lumshnong in East Jaintia Hills which is operating along the National Highway NH-6, Khliehriat-Bardarpur road.
According to KSU JHDU President Ohibait Dkhar, the reason that the KSU in Jaintia Hills has taken such drastic step to shut down the operation of the toll gate was due to fact that none of its employees procured any work permits from the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council.
They KSU had earlier issued a 5-day deadline to the Eagle Company Pvt. Ltd to furnish all procedure as per rules of the District Council.
