Min assures better transport service

SHILLONG: The A’chik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM), Shillong Capital unit has bemoaned the irregular transport services from Shillong to different parts of Garo Hills.
An AHAM delegation met the Transport Minister, Sniawbhalang Dhar, on Tuesday and the latter assured he will address the issue of irregularities of transport service and other grievances faced by the people of Garo Hills.
The AHAM also informed the minister that during the winter season, extra buses should be arranged and the transport authority should arrange for advance ticket booking facility for the convenience of the passengers.
AHAM also said during the winter season, a number of students and office workers travel from Shillong to Garo Hills daily, but due to shortage of buses, they are not able to reach their respective destinations on time.
