Assam CM Sonowal condoles Donkupar Roy’s death

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the untimely death of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker and former chief minister, Donkupar Roy who breathed his last on Sunday.

In a condolence message here, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the untimely death of Donkupar Roy was a huge loss to North East in general and Meghalaya in particular. He was better known for his value-based politics and loved by all and sundry.

“Late Donkupar Roy’s dedication for public service was noteworthy and as a politician he was outstanding and worked for the empowerment of all sections of the people,” Sonowal added.

The Chief Minister said, “My condolences to the bereaved family members and I hope his family gets strength in their time of grief. I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of late Donkupar Roy”.
