Murder attempt
Teilang Sapuh of Tluh village, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on July 19 around 6 am, her husband, Morning War attempted to murder her son by strangulation and also threatened her with dire consequences.
Telephone line tampering
RA Kharbteng, SDE, CFA (U&S) Central Shillong lodged a complaint that on July 26, during checking, the Line staff found that miscreants had sabotaged the BSNL underground cables at Jail Road, Shillong, thereby causing interruption of around 200 BSNL telephone lines, which has cost the company around Rs. 16,000.
Duped
Bantyllilang Narry lodged a complaint that on July 26, around 7 pm, Kitbok Pyngrope was caught red-handed while he was illegally collecting money from the apartments of Alwin Phira, in the name of Dorbar Shnong, Nongrim Hills, Shillong.
Burglary
Gulzar Hussain lodged a complaint that on the night of July 26, miscreants broke into his grocery shop at Kalaichar village (SWGH) and stole materials valued over Rs 31,000.
Rupsena Kazi lodged a complaint that on July 26, miscreants broke into her house at Julapara village, South West Garo Hills and stole gold and silver ornaments along with Rs. 2 lakh.
Robbery
Sipahi Ray lodged a complaint that on July 25, around 7.30 pm, two unidentified persons and their female accomplice (armed with a knife) robbed him of Rs. 12,500 near Oakland Road, Shillong.
Drug seized
On July 25, around 6.30 pm, acting on inputs about movement of a suspected drug peddler viz., Synod Phawa, police laid a trap at Deinchynrum East Jaintia Hills and intercepted one Tata Sumo (ML-04B-5203) and recovered 4.38 grams of suspected heroin, 29.38 grams of Nitrazepam tablets, three syringes and three mobile phones from his possession.
