Government to release teachers’ pay

SHILLONG: The state government has agreed in principle to release the 2nd quarter (2nd installment) of the revised pay before Teachers’ Day, 2019 (September 5) as a token of respect and honour and gift to teachers.
President of Khasi Jaintia Deficit School Teachers’ Association (KJDSTA) Babu Kular Khongjirem said the assurance was given by senior officials of the Education department in a meeting with leaders of KJDSTA on Monday.
The Directorate also released on Monday the pending DA arrear to deficit teachers to be disbursed by different DSEOs. The 2nd quarter salary from June to August is expected to be released by next week.
