Band from city to perform in Serbia Jazz festival

Shillong: 4th Element, a funk, jazz, RnB and soul band from the state was chosen to be one of the acts featuring in the four-day Nisville Jazz Festival in Nis, Serbia from August 8 to August 11.
The band consists of Sarah Lee in vocals, Ribor Mb (Keyboards), Sam Shullai (Drums), Amit Mullick (Guitar) and Mewanki Rangad (Bass).
This makes them the first band from India to ever perform in the festival.
The band as everyone knows have stand out in the crowd of musicians that have emerged from our little city.
Their unique style has resonated not only in the local or national music scene but on a global stage as well.
The band have also performed in Central America (Belize Jazz Festival). Manila (The Philippines International Jazz Festival), Kathmandu (The Jazzmandu Festival), Mexico, Singapore and Bangkok and in India they have been a part of The Delhi International Jazz Festival among others.
Nisville Jazz Festival has been held since 1995 and it draws a crowd of 50,000 to 80,000 making it one of the top 10 jazz festivals in Europe.
This year 4th Element will be one of the bands performing in this festival apart from the main acts like Maceo Parker (backing band of James Brown), Christian Scott, Dat Brass, Malina Moye, Jamal Thomas, Sean Kutti, Jo Mersa Marley(Bob Marley’s grandson), Bob Geldof and others.
