MLA inaugurates basketball court in Williamnagar

WILLIAMNAGAR: Williamnagar MLA Marcuise N Marak inaugurated the newly constructed basketball court at Rongrenggre Govt. Higher Secondary School, Williamnagar, in the presence of East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Swapnil Tembe, government officials, teachers, NGO leaders and other dignitaries on Saturday.
In his address to the gathering, Marcuise informed that the infrastructure complete with lighting facilities had been constructed at a cost of Rs 5 lakh and lauded the district administration for taking the initiative.
While appreciating the steps taken by the Deputy Commissioner, Marcuise informed that Swapnil Tembe himself is a sports enthusiast and urged the youth to work in tandem to promote games and sports in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged the student community to participate in games and sports besides their normal routine and sought their cooperation and support in promoting games and sports in the district.
Earlier, the principal of Rongrenggre Govt. Higher Secondary School, Sengsrang G Momin delivered the welcome address while Cyprian T Sangma, assistant teacher, proposed the vote of thanks.
