Guwahati: A Meghalaya girl is among the three winners of 17th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019 that took place here on Friday.
Tanvi Raksam Marak shared the title with Langpoklakpam Melody of Manipur and Rajeswari Chakraborty of Sikkim.
Marak, who recently cleared her medical entrance test, was crowned by reigning Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018, Mariam Longri, in front of a packed auditorium.
The three winners will also be offered professional representation by Mega Entertainment, a specialised grooming session that will guide them further on how to carry themselves forward in the professional sphere. Besides, the winners will also get the opportunity to walk the ramp at various regional and national shows.
The organisers of the event had shortlisted 50 women, who vied for the coveted title of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2019. The gowns of the top five rounds were designed by reputed fashion designer from Shillong Arif Mukhim.
Another event, Garnier Men Mega Mister North East, was also organised. Abhijit Singha, founder of Mega Entertainment said, “Starting this year, Mega Entertainment decided to eliminate the concept of runners-up from our pageant. So, all the top-3 contestants are the winners of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East. They have struggled their way to the top, managing to beat the other 47 contestants, hence they are all winners.”
Having completed 17 glorious years, Mega Mister North East is the biggest beauty pageant of northeast India, conceptualised by leading fashion entrepreneur Abhijit Singha, and produced by Mega Entertainment.
