Quiz competition
To commemorate and celebrate its 64th Foundation Day and 73rd year of Independence, Shillong College will organise an Inter-College quiz competition on the theme “Revisiting India’s struggle for Independence: the role of Freedom Fighters” at 11 am on Wednesday.
Office bearers
The Tura Auto Operators Association has elected new office bearers: Creatwind Ch Momin as president, Mikhael Ch Sangma as vice president, Thomas R Marak as general secretary, Verth G Momin as joint secretarybesides others.
Dry day
The DC, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has declared August 15 as dry day in the district on account of Independence Day. All IMFL retail shops, bars, hotels, bonded warehouses, bottling unit, country made spirit shops, outstills, breweries, canteens, etc located the district to remain closed.
