RVV launched

SHILLONG: Rotavirus Vaccine (RVV) was launched in the state by Health & Family Welfare Department cum Mission Director, NHM, Pravin Bakshi on Friday.
The RVV will be now be added to the routine immunisation programme in the State as this will provide protection against severe diarrhoea caused by Rotavirus. Rotavirus is a highly contagious virus that causes diarrhoea in children which may lead to hospitalization and death. The 1st dose of RVV was administered on August 13 at Ganesh Das Hospital, Shillong.
