Man attacks five with knife
Saralin Kharbithai lodged a complaint that on August 17 at about 8 pm, her son Michael Kharbithai (32) in an inebriated condition, used foul language in her house at Lumjingshai, Forest Colony, Shillong and on being reprimanded by the complainant, he stabbed her with a knife. The accused also stabbed Fedrick Kharbithai and assaulted Ronald Kharbithai. He further attacked Promila Kharbithai and Promio D Marak with the knife and fled away. As a result, the victims sustained injuries and were admitted at Civil Hospital Shillong.

Driver assaulted
On August 16, around 8.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted the driver of an LPG tanker (MN-01-AA-1202) on GS Road at Pahamriniai, Ri-Bhoi and also snatched the ignition key of the vehicle. As a result, the driver sustained minor injuries.

Fraud
Sewilsborn G Momin of Chachatgittim village, East Garo Hills lodged a complaint that after making a deal with a person for purchase of a Hyundai i20 car (AS-01BT-4467) for Rs 1,90,000 as advertised in OLX, on August 12, he paid Rs. 95,000 to the seller through Google Pay account. However, the complainant later found that the person neither wanted to part with the car nor returned the money.
Vishal Sinha lodged a complaint that between August 13 and 14 he made a payment through OLX to one Srikant of Umroi Airport, Ri-Bhoi for delivery of a Honda Scooty (ML-05R-2003), but the payee has failed to deliver the scooty to the complainant.

Theft
Ajit Kumar Banik lodged a complaint that on August 18 at 9 am, security personnel apprehended one Sagar Sunar (20) while he was stealing scrap wires, extension electrical boards, etc, from NEIGRIHMS Hospital Project at Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.
