Drug peddler held

SHILLONG: The Jhalupara VDP (Village Defence Party) has apprehended a drug peddler. The accused identified as W Kharumnuid of 4th Mile Pynthor was detained by the locals who later called up the police.
A statement issued by the East Khasi Hills SP said 9.09 grammes of heroin were recovered from Kharumnuid’s possession.
The SP congratulated the VDP and the local Dorbar for their seminal contribution in nabbing the peddler.
Kharumnuid has been procuring drugs from Guwahati and selling them in 4th Mile area. A case under Section 21(b) of NDPS Act has been registered in this connection.
