SHILLONG: The three sections of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) stakeholders — NEHUTA, NEHUNSA and NEHUSU — have formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC) in the wake of serious issues pertaining to students, employees and teachers and anomalies in the university, the chairman of the JAC informed in a release issued here.
Series of violations of the Act, Statute and Ordinances of the university by the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and others have created an unhealthy atmosphere in the university, the chairman of the committee said.
“Compelled by the all out violation, failure and inefficient and incompetent handling of the university affairs by the VC and others, the associations decided to form the committee.
The JAC shall work out due course of action in order to restore healthy, democratic and congenial atmosphere and to save the university from sinking further,” it said.
