UDP revamps party for 2023 polls

Mawkyrwat: The United Democratic Party (UDP) South West Khasi Hills District has revamped the unit by electing new office bearers with a view to win both the seats in the 2023 assembly elections from the district
The district level meeting in this connection was held here on Saturday.
The meeting was chaired by the outgoing president, GG Bung Snaitang, in the presence of the outgoing general secretary, Hapbok Lyngkhoi, and 20 delegates each from Mawkyrwat and Ranikor Circles.
Newly elected general secretary Anvil Lyngdoh informed that the meeting started with a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for Donkupar Roy Dkhar who was the party president.
He informed that the meeting elected Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein as president, Anvil Lyngdoh as general secretary, Primus Thongni and Hestar S Lyngdoh as vice-presidents, K D Wanniang and Bahun S Basan as joint secretaries, Hapbok Lyngkhoi as treasurer, Sheinkor Nongsiej and Balanstor Marwein as auditors and six representative members to represent at the CEC meeting. It also elected Langrin MDC Nassar Marwein as adviser.
The meeting also elected Synshar J. Marwein as president of the UDP Youth Wing and Arful Syiemlieh as general secretary. Meanwhile, I Dkhar was elected as president of the Women Wing and I Jyrwa as general secretary. (Contd on P-10)
