Poshan awards to state districts

SHILLONG: As part of the Poshan Abhiyaan which was launched in 2018, various officials from the districts of the state have received specific awards for success in respective fields.
The District Level Leadership Convergence Award was given to Isawanda Laloo, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills for playing a pivotal role in increasing immunization rates with support from civil society leaders besides achieving convergence by conducting regular meetings with all line departments. The Block Level Leadership & Convergence Award was given to Child Development Project Officer of Mairang Block, West Khasi Hills. The block focused on solving the infrastructure issues faced by the AWCs through convergence with other departments.
Terish Momin (AWW), Grinpilla Sangma (ASHA), Clina Momin (ANM), Corinna T Sangma (AWH) and Bristilla Sangma (LS) of Resubelpara Block, North Garo Hills were given the AAAA & LS Convergence Awards. The team focused on imparting quality pre-school education and giving individual attention to each child. It resulted in many children getting admission in first standard of a very sought-after school in the area.
