Rotary Club donates medical equipment to city hospital

SHILLONG: The Rotary Club of Shillong, which has completed 64 years of service to the people, has donated a haemodialysis unit to Dr. H. Gordon Roberts Hospital as part of the community project and service to humanity on Monday, a statement issued here said.
The Haemodialysis equipment was donated by Kishan Tibrewalla in loving memory of his late parents.
AL Hek, Minister of Health & Family Welfare was the chief guest during the function and the guest of honour was the president of the Rotary Club of Shillong, David Umdor.
The Medical Superintendent R Nongrum, Consultant Meban, administrators of the hospital besides doctors, nurses and the hospital staff attended the function.
The club has joined hands in the past with Dr. H. Gordon Robert Hospital by furnishing the Children’s Ward by organising a walkathon and then later providing gastro scope equipment and modern operation theatre lights through a matching grant project with 3 Rotary Clubs in Welsh (UK), who continued their umbilical link to this institution and the people here as well, the statement said.
