SHILLONG: The Seng Samla Mawlai Nongkwar has alleged that the election held in the locality in September, 2018, in which RR Thangkhiew was elected as the Rangbah Shnong of Mawlai Nongkwar, was illegal as it was conducted without the consent or supervision of the Dorbar Of Hima Mylliem.
In a statement issued here, Kenneth Swer, publicity secretary, Seng Samla Mawlai Nongkwar said that the Rangbah Shnong had functioned illegally for the whole year, without a ‘sanad’ from the Syiem of Hima Mylliem.
The Seng Samla Mawlai Nongkwar has urged the Syiem of Hima Mylliem to conduct re-election in the locality of Mawlai Nongkwar at the earliest in order to enable the people to elect a man of their own choice to be their leader, Kenneth said.
