Theft
On the night of August 26, unknown miscreant(s) broke into the official residence of Jitender Singh at Konagittim, Baghmara in South Garo Hills and stole Rs. 3,000 in cash and a mobile phone.
On August 24 around 9 pm, unknown miscreant(s) stole 24 batteries valued around Rs. 1,80,000 from ATC tower at Lumsohpetbneng, Umiam, Ri-Bhoi.
Hitesh Medhi, Assistant Project Manager, District Rural Development Agency of East Garo Hills lodged a complaint that on August 22, miscreants stole music system and vehicle documents from his Mahindra Scorpio vehicle (ML-07A-2186), which was parked in his garage at DRDA Hall-I, Williamnagar, East Garo Hills.
On August 20, miscreants stole a battery from Reliance-Jio mobile tower site at Mobandu, West Jaintia Hills.
On August 24, miscreants broke into the house of Phlasdinglan Nonglait at Mawiong Umjapung and stole 21 Amaraja batteries.
On August 26, around 7.30 pm, miscreants broke into the house of Donald Marak at Nongrimbah, Block-IV and stole two LPG cylinders.
Robbery
Subrata Dey, driver of truck (AS-01FC-5878) lodged a complaint that on Monday around 3 am, while he was parking his truck at ICAR near CAU, NH-6 (RB), five unidentified miscreants in a Maruti van (number not known) armed with knives, forcibly broke into his truck, assaulted him and robbed Rs 15,500 from him. The miscreants also stole some clothes from the truck, while two of them were strangulating him.
Counterfeit products
Vishal Mondal, Authorized Attorney, M/s Wrangler Apparels Corp., USA, lodged a complaint that it has come to the notice of the company that some persons or firms are indulging in manufacturing, printing, marketing, distributing, stocking and selling spurious and counterfeit items in the name of the brand mentioned above.
Assault
Mansrang K Sangma lodged a complaint that on Monday around 11 pm, one Matchallang Arengh assaulted Monindro Rabha at Bengdoba, Resubelpara in North Garo Hills. As a result, the latter sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC Resubelpara. Sangma also threatened the complainant’s sister with dire consequences.
MTDC engineer files case
M. Ahmed, Superintending Engineer, MTDC Ltd., lodged a complaint that since June 30, 2019 till date, some persons suspected to be his co-workers are attempting to implicate him in connection with the murder of Lohbianghun Sahkhar, through various falsified posts on the social media. The complainant further stated that they are also attempting to implicate him of running a sex racket.
