SHILLONG: The United Achik Youth Federation (UAYF), Shillong has voiced concern over the sudden transfer of the Executive Engineer of Mawkyrwat PHE division, West Khasi Hills.
In a statement issued on Friday, the organisation said that Executive Engineer, Mawkyrwat PHE, Lyngdon Momin had joined on February 14 and now he is being transferred without any reason.
“We want both the state government and the authority of PHE department to clarify regarding his immediate transfer,” the statement said.
The organisation further said that the government should explain the norms of term of an officer in one district.
“The state government should follow the rules of transferring officers and we want to know how things will improve in the district by this transfer,” the organisation said.
The organisation while demanding explanation said the state government should provide officers who know every language of the district.
