State govt has no info on transfer of CJ

SHILLONG: The state government is yet to get any information regarding the likely transfer of Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court Ajay Kumar Mittal.
After a metro daily reported about the decision of Supreme Court Collegium to transfer Madras High Court Chief Justice Vijaya Kamlesh Tahilramani as the chief justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, the state government on Sunday said it is yet to receive any information on the matter.
“We are yet to get any intimation on the matter”, a Law department official said.
Justice Mittal had assumed office only on May 28 this year.
