Adelbert urges contractors to be vigilant

SHILLONG: The MLA of North Shillong, Adelbert Nongrum has called upon contractors and traders to be vigilant of the labourers they employ raising apprehension of the NRC fall out.
In a statement issued, Nongrum said the contractors and traders should not be satisfied with cheap labour. He also urged the traditional heads to be vigilant.
“Their papers need to be checked thoroughly whether they are genuine citizens of India or not. This is one of the measures to prevent the entry of illegal migrants to the state,” he said.
