Three held for suspected murder

SHILLONG: Two persons including a juvenile were arrested for suspected murder cases in East Jaintia Hills. Police from the Umpleng Anti Dacoity Camp, recovered the body of Rup Jyoti Talukdar hailing from Baksa, Assam, who was missing since August 28, from an abandoned coal mine of the district.
Police said that they suspect murder and are awaiting the post mortem report.
In another case, East Jaintia Hills police arrested one person in connection with the murder of Krishna Chettri also from Baksa, Assam who was found murdered on August 12.
The prime suspect identified as Marki Siangshai (20) was arrested on Monday. According to police, the accused has admitted to have committed the murder and based on his statement, his co-accomplice, who is a juvenile, was also apprehended on Tuesday.
