Reid Chest Hospital gets new facilities

Shillong: Health Minister, A L Hek inaugurated the new facilities at the Reid Provincial Chest Hospital in the city on Wednesday.
The new initiatives introduced are the ultrasonography centre, OPD casualty and the laboratory which are funded under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY)- MHIS, 2019.
During his brief address, the Health Minister congratulated the entire team of doctors and staff of the hospital for their hardwork and dedication in their endeavour of serving the citizens of the state through the hospital.
He also called upon the health officials to sustain their efforts at enhancing the quality of service in the interest of the patients of the hospital and the state as a whole.
During the programme, the minister along with the other dignitaries also released a booklet entitled ‘Celebrating 6 months of PMJAY- MHIS 2019’ which documents the journey of the implementation of phase IV of the MHIS in the last 6 months at RP Chest Hospital, Shillong.
Chairperson, Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW)Theilin Phanbuh, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr A War, Director of Health Services ( MCH& FW) cum Joint CEO Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) Dr. L M Pdah, , Additional Medical Superintendent, Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Dr B. Thangkhiew, matrons, staff of the hospital and others were also present.
