Body recovered
On September 1, the body of Jyoti Talukdar was recovered from an abandoned coal quarry near Nongjri Bazar under Umpleng AD Camp (EJH). The deceased is suspected to have been murdered.
Drug bust
On the morning of September, police conducted a raid at Na’kam Bazar, Tura (WGH), and apprehended one Sunny Karmakar. An unspecified amount of psychotropic substances was recovered from his scooty.
Fraud
Apgan B Marak of Dadenggre (WGH) lodged a complaint stating that one Chekam T Sangma of Warisepgre in November 2017 had borrowed Rs 1,75000 from him. However, in February 2018, the borrower refused to return the money and fled.
Meanwhile, Chekam T Sangma lodged a complaint that on July 26, 2019 around 9:50 pm, three persons Apgan B Marak, Jaseng Ch Sangma and Sengman went to his residence at Warisepgre village (WGH) and asked him to sign a fabricated document, wherein the complainant was alleged to have borrowed Rs 1,75000 from them. When the complainant refused to sign the document, they threatened him with dire consequences and compelled him to sign the document.
Prem Subedi lodged a complaint at Khanapara PS (RB), stating that on September 3 around 9:46 pm, he received two separate text messages informing that Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 had been transferred from his account.
Mamoni Bordoloi lodged a complaint at Khanapara PS (RB) stating that on September 2 around 4:18 pm, unknown miscreant withdrew Rs 5,000 from her account.
Theft
On September 4, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of Vini Mylliempdah at Lad Smit and stole Rs 20,500, clothes, airbags and other items.
Mistary Roy Lyngdoh Nongbri lodged a complaint stating that on September 3 around 10 pm, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (ML-05R-9390) from his residence in Shyiap.
Daniel Basumatary lodged a complaint that on September 3, around 9pm one unidentified female robbed him of Rs 4,000 at Bijou Cinema Hall in Police Bazar.
Mararki Shallam, Engineer, MePGCL, Umtru Power Station (RB) lodged a complaint stating that on August 3, unknown miscreants broke into the store room and stole 19-core cable copper, six sets of old isolator arms and a set of new isolator arms worth Rs. 29,400.
Torture
P Manner lodged a complaint stating that on August 30, one Kit Nongrum along with his two accomplices went to his house at Wahiajer in Narpuh (EJH), where Kit Nongrum administered an injection to his daughter and also took her blood sample, while his accomplices helped him by holding the victim’s hands and covering her mouth. Again, on September 2, Nongrum along with his accomplice went to his house, cut the leg of his daughter with a blade and also threatened her and her family members with dire consequences, if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
