Pala harps on development of tourism

SHILLONG: Shillong MP Vincent Pala is now keen to focus on tourism sector as the tourism industry in Meghalaya has huge potential as far as creating livelihood opportunities for the youths of the state.
Pala said he is trying to get a few projects for the tourism sector in places like Cherrapunjee and other areas from the Corporate Social  Responsibility (CSR) funds of different companies.
He said the companies who are willing to spend their CSR funds in Meghalaya are also going to conduct necessary survey for the  tourism projects which need to be taken up in the state.
“This time I am focusing on tourism and the need to create employment for the youths of the state,” he said.
Pala stressed on the need to give skill training to the youths of the state on several sectors including tourism which is booming.
