KSU detains 40 without work permit

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Upper Shillong Circle apprehended 40 outsiders without work permit in Umlyngka.
The checking was conducted under the leadership of publicity secretary Pynskhemlang Syiem on Tuesday and it was suspected that they all came from Assam.
The union has also warned contractors and house owners who bring the outsiders to the state for daily wage labour and asked them to arrange work permit for them from the satte government.
