TURA: As part of the nationwide launching of National Animal Disease Control Programme and Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme, the office of the Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, South Garo Hills, organised a launching programme at Chokpot Krishi Vigyan Kendra where GHADC Chairman, Denang T Sangma was the Chief Guest.
Speaking during the launch, Denang said the programme is a major initiative made by the prime minister in doubling the farmers’ income by eradicating the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in the livestock.
He said the programme would go a long way in giving maximum benefits to the farmers, especially to those who are engaged in livestock farming and people of Chokpot should take full advantage of such programme.
Chokpot Civil SDO, Dolrich G Momin also dwelt at length on the benefit of the programme and informed that the programme aims at vaccinating livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goat and pigs against FMD.
