National Award
The DC, East Jaintia Hills has informed that the Government of India has instituted an annual national award called “Subhash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar” to recognise the excellent work done by individuals and institutions in the field of disaster management. The applications for the award for the year 2020 have been invited. The applications can be filled online on the website http://dmawards-.ndma.gov.in. The last date of filling of application is September 30.
Blood donation
Shillong Commerce College is organising a voluntary blood donation camp on Friday in collaboration with Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute and Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Shillong. The camp will be preceded by a talk on HIV/AIDS at 9 am.

Trekking
Youth Hostels Association of India, Meghalaya State Branch, will organise one-day local trekking from Wahkdait to Shnongpdeng via Pashung on October 12. Interested trekkers are requested to collect forms from the government Youth Hostel, Shillong. The last date of the submission of form is October 9 before 2 pm.
Pensioners’ meet
State general convener of All India Postal & RMS Pensioners Association invites all postal pensioners to attend a programme to observe the International Pensioners Day at the GPO premises from 11 am onwards on October 1.
